Yes you can. The post is Count Officer was given to a swing shift officer who has been with the DOC for 3 months. The Position of "Count Officer was not advertised. ( I did not see it posted anywhere on the unit).

I know a few officers who wanted that post but did not get the chance to apply.

Can anybody in administration at Morey Unit explain this ?

I await your response.

For anybody that has their head out of that deep dark hole they carry around with them and actually cares, it was announced and only two people put in for it. I waited 5 days longer than intended before offering it to one of the two. Don't blow smoke up people saying it wasn't announced just to piss them off and continue create division. And yes, your right, people with 15 and twenty call-ins in the last 6 months are not even going to sniff an ops post. That is getting harder and harder to find. Even amongst the good staff we have its hard to find. So moreyco, I would love it if the senior staff (not all) would just start caring. All some care about is their own self righteous crap and running to the warden when things get to hot. Like I have said to some already, you want things to be better, start coming to work and start holding one another accountable. I'm not your enemy. Try doing it the way your asked to and you will see the difference. You can see the difference in the last 8 months with just some doing it.

captain, all this could have been avoided if you just do it the way we did in the old day. Put up a POST in the common areas that way everybody could see it and apply if they want it. At Barchey we would post an ops position and put blank memos below it to give officers the oppurtunity to apply. (Did you do this ?) in your post you said it was announced. With RDO's is it possible not everybody got the announcment ? (answer please)

I know that there is a day shift officer that put in a memo requesting any ops position that came open. (did that officer refuse)

I know that an officer was offered that ops position and was given a verbal approval by youself and the DW. But that officer is on annual. (did that officer refuse)

I know that a certian officer was placed on CAC, but then removed (by your direction) so they could get that ops job in visitation.

Not trying to back any particular side here, but there was an announcement put up a few months back about this. It was hanging in the main control window next to the trap. It was for IMO and several other positions including MDU.

I'll back a side. It was posted and even the count movement one was posted too. And by the way, I happen to know that he didn't remove that certain officer from CAC. He backed it up. RU, what makes you think anyone has to explain anything to you?
