What's it going to take for the staffing to get better. Unfortunately I think someone is going to be hurt real bad before the administration get a clue about the staffing levels. Or maybe it's not the administration maybe the staff just need to show up to work. If that's the case I hope you read this while sitting at home after you called in sick to watch a game or just didn't fell like going to work. When someone is killed or injured will you care.

They don't care. How many of them do we know that are playing sick all the time. If someone gets hurt, its just one more reason to stay home and blame it on the administration. There are plenty of things the Admin is doing wrong but until officers start coming to work, what right does anyone have to complain. Stop going out on FMLA and TWA all the time. PLEASE!

Amen. I'm tired of getting x-leveled to cover for officers that can't show up to work. As far as I'm concerned, they need to eliminate paid sick leave all together. Force these people to handle their business on their days off, like responsible adults, not reward them with money for work they didn't do.

Great idea ineedamychowerz. Don't come to work, don't get paid. Imagine if that was the rule. Bet ya they would come towork then.

-then you've got to cut the union free from their influence in discipline (which people pound pulpits to support). You've got to 601 supervisors for not holding staff accountable to CAC standards. You've got to shirk off the chit-chat from your "pals" in briefing when they call in for their 3-day binge weekend and then come back all buddy-buddy with you, after they just di*ked you and your workload. You've got to do all of that, repeatedly, because it is not going to be an easy fix...it'll take some time to weed out the bad pennies. You know that Lewis has been #2 in call-in problem for the state? How pathetic is that? Admin has nothing to do with it--how can they, when there are not enough supervisors doing the leg-work on holding troops accountable? How about when a supervisor walks off the job because their day is done, even though they didn't get relieved adequately?
