Im sure everybody has come to work just to find out the the shuttle bus is out of service, not running... This really SUCKS... The worse part is working on my yard (RAST) all day in the HOT sun and then having to walk to the parking lot.. I timed myself and it took me 21 min 29 second....

Thanks for listening, and please try to fix this problem. It is a problem and it's your job as boss lady to make things better for your employees....

Indeed! One day, I come in half an hour early expecting one shuttle running, and there's two, so I sit around admin for half an hour like an idiot. The day before that, however, I came in on regular time and only only short bus running in the opposite direction, pulled off when I was walking up to VIP, so I was 10 minutes late. I tried walking to beat it but it passed me (going back to VIP) at the Swift yard. Why the inconsistency?

I almost got hit by a bus yesterday going about 55mph. It was the second time it happened. The next time I'm calling the Police and the News.

They don't care. There is a whole fleet of vehicles, including buses, sitting in disrepair in our motor pool parking lot. Lewis is like a rudderless ship, no leadership. However, if an inmate family member were to call central office and complain about the lack of buses on visitation day, we'd have new buses the next day.

People care, it is sad that some would believe otherwise but people care. The Lewis fleet is growing old, its true--and there are staff that would rather treat the cars and trucks like their ex's vehicles than the as the tools to respond to life-threatening issues (can anyone say "Ford on a Chevy emblem"?) The truth is, the buses break down due to age, driving beyond designed use, and--no way--inmate abuse that goes unreported. Just last week Motorpool staff reported tire skids along the tram roads that indicated the tram drivers were cruising up to 40 mph, then hitting the airbrakes. Any documentation on this event? Nope. Staff on the tram roads walking, both perimeters posted, yet nobody sees this stuff to grow us any paperwork even through we have "paid observers and correctional professionals" out there to watch over us...and to ensure our buses stay running to get us all to where we need to go. How'd John Lennon say it? "I'm just sittin here watching the wheels go round and round, I really love to watch them roll..."
