Anyway: everyone expects to have days off and regular shift hours, yeah? K-9 and SSU staff do not have the luxury of reliable RDOs or work hours since they are responders, not shift--however, they can't live at Lewis. Sooner or later they too need to go home and reconnect with family and friends. If/when a cell phone rings in a pod, it stands to reason to search as quickly as possible...trouble is, by the time ICS is called and the first cell door is opened, that phone is locked nice away in someone's "safe".
Why aren't BOSS chairs moved in to the search pod, since they are mounted on wheels?
Why aren't we disassembling one BOSS chair and building our own extras so we could have one per housing unit or building, for a fraction of the cost?
The technology is there to ensure cell service does not work, Georgia and Florida have looked into it--but our admin staff use blackberry phones as ways to communicate and multi-task. If the tech is available to exclude certain numbers and still block out other service, it should definitely be something we invest more time and energy into assessing...
