I agree about the DW. It seems the focus has been more on keeping inmates and their family members happy, rather than focusing on the safety and security of the institution and the officers that run it. Not to say that locking the yard down would have prevented what happened yesterday, I don't think it would have, it probably would have just delayed it. If these scumbags want to stab each other bad enough, they are going to find ways to do it.
None the less, many of the decisions by the people upfront (ie the DW, central office) have been suspect. Now it's all about where he go from here. Are we going to have visits today or next week, just to keep the inmates and family members happy? Or are we going to do what all the officers here know needs to be done? I hope its the latter, but I suspect it will be the former.
