The foundation of our great democratic Union is its Constitution and By-Laws. From our founding to the present, it has survived during challenging times and has directed our continued growth and progress.

The Constitution has served us well and sets forth the principals which guide the representation of Correctional, Probation professionals throughout the State of Arizona. It is the law of the ARIZONA CONFERENCE OF POLICE AND SHERIFFS, LOCAL 7077 IN AFFILIATION WITH COMMUNICATION WORKERS OF AMERICA/NATIONAL COALITION OF PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICERS, AFL-CIO AZPOA/AZCOPS and Local Unions, and binding on each member.

The theme of our UNION was to head it the "Right Direction" to improve and increase service to our expanding and diversified membership. This amended Constitution will assist that effort. It represents the foresight and dedication of convention delegates in enhancing our ability to survive in a global economy and meet the demands of a post- 9/11 society.

Our constitution is a living document. It must be interpreted wisely, applied uniformly and enforced fairly. If we are faithful to that obligation, the Constitution will continue to serve us well, and our Union will continue to be the premier representative of Correctional, Probation Professionals.
